The Red Herring
I’ve been warning that the so-called “Epstein Files” were a “red herring” since 2024:
“A red herring is a rhetorical device or logical fallacy that distracts from the main issue or argument by introducing an irrelevant topic. It’s often used in debates, discussions, or writing to mislead or divert attention away from the original point. The term derives from the practice of using a strong-smelling fish to throw hounds off a scent during a hunt, metaphorically representing a misleading clue.” — from AI query
Recall that Donald Trump used his first day in office to task his hand-picked lackeys in the “Justice” Department to assign 1,000 FBI agents to purge his name (and presumably, the names of Elon Musk, Bill Gates, and Peter Theil) from files used in the criminal investigations into Jeffrey Epstein. This fact was so widely reported at the time by mainstream media that it’s inconceivable the media seems to have amnesia as they race to create a new media event about the release of whatever crumbs are left after a full year of redacting, shredding, and losing records. Can there be anything left for the public to see? I doubt it. What Trump wants to hide is the Russia connection to the potential blackmail the files might contain. His cry to release the files is a “red herring” the media will use to sell hope that justice will be done.
Make no mistake, Jeffrey Epstein was a monster. His myriad victims deserve better than they are getting. Donald Trump deserves to be horsewhipped for his participation, but his base could care less. But there is misdirection at play here, and only one important story worthy of headlines. Rest assured it won’t appear in the legacy news: The takeover of America by a cabal of evil billionaires backed by adversarial foreign governments, particularly Russia, in a bloodless coup. Any other story is a red herring to distract you.
