Let Biden’s Policies Go!

The news media seem intent on assigning Joe Biden’s unpopularity to his age — even to the point of accusing Kamala Harris of hiding his mental decline; but what the American public really disliked about Mr. Biden wasn’t his age so much as his insistence on screwing up foreign policy; he has shown an arrogant stone-deafness to criticism. His awful policies started with a botched withdrawal from Afghanistan that was planned to fail by Mike Pompeo; but it was Biden that shanked the kick. His policies toward Ukraine progressed from a good idea to a bad lend-lease policy for military hardware that has actually hamstrung Ukraine’s ability to win their war. While Biden’s administration paid lip service to the Palestinians during a grinding year of genocide in Gaza, he continues to finance Israel’s war machine. Mr. Biden is locked into his own cocky view of world geopolitics that isn’t shared by the majority of Americans, who are impatient for today’s world situations to resolve with favorable outcomes.

Joe’s handlers have probably been telling him it’s his perceived age nobody likes ..but it isn’t. It’s foreign policy outcomes.

Ms Harris would do well to drop Joe’s foreign policy and develop her own …or follow him out the door. Several skilled political analysts, like James Carville and others, suggest that a clean break with Mr. Biden’s foreign policy and a fresh listen to the American electorate by Ms Harris would put her over the top in the election. As a caution, however, Carville also predicts a grim, bitter slugfest with an uncertain outcome if she doesn’t define herself differently.

Vive La France!

Well done, France! The Paris Summer Olympics was a complete success! Outstanding! It was the first made-for-streaming, pay-for-view presentation of a traditional sporting event, albeit one that used to be free to watch on television; however, the French did such an elegant job of engineering and managing the Olympics that not even Paramount could screw it up. Surprisingly entertaining, I watched the colorful, artistic opening ceremony all the way through to the closing on the bridge, when France handed the Olympic flag to …Tom Cruise? France might want to pinch that one off right there at the bridge, though, because once Tom screams that flaming rice-rocket into Hollywood with the Olympic flag on fire, the L.A. version will likely explode into a crap-festival of merchandising “partners” that will block out the sun.

Shame on You, PBS!

I just listened to the Public Broadcasting System (PBS) “News” team throw shade on President Biden’s heartfelt goodbye speech and couldn’t help but note how pointedly mean-spirited those smug assholes are. With their ivy-league bona fides, I can only marvel at their waste of a fine education!

There was a time when PBS’s MacNeil-Leherer Report was the gold standard for journalistic integrity. So how did PBS go from MacNeil, Bill Moyers and Gwen Ifil to today’s smarmy, both-sides opinion machine with a decidedly conservative, near-right top-spin?

Tomorrow, readers, I’ll forego tuning in for their elite soccer-mom journalism. I suspect Judy Woodruff will replay the both-sides drivel about showing niceness and civility toward the drunk insurrectionist MAGA uncles. “Hey! Let’s normalize that!”       Continue reading

Thank You for Your Service, Mr. President!

I have been among your critics due to my certainty that a second Trump presidency would spell the end of our democratic republic.

Both my maternal and paternal families lived in the colonies sometime before 1610, making me a 17th generation American — naturally my concerns about the Orange Bloviator (a relative immigrant) and his Russian wife (an import) are paramount. This has been driving my opposition to your re-election, but today, you reminded me of what service to our country actually looks like. You promised to be a bridge back to normalcy; and, one way or another, you kept that promise, sir.

Men whose opinions I respect are comparing you to Cincinnatus, and I heartily concur. I am also reminded of the lessons learned from George Washington’s presidency.

I am only one voter, but Mr. Biden will always be spoken of respectfully in my home, and in my presence.

President Bone Spur Wins a Purple Heart

According to Rupert Murdoch’s Fox Propaganda, Trump was “defiant” after being shot. Like most things Fox, that’s not the truth; it’s Truth Social. The moment Trump sensed danger he leapt face-first to the deck. The Orange Leader the Secret Service pulled to his feet looked like a weak, terrified old man who had just crapped his pants and didn’t know where he was. He was too scared to even walk, so the Secret Service hand-carried him off the stage. Seconds before they loaded Trump into a waiting car, he squinted at the sun as though it was a solar eclipse, then managed a weak fist-pump as the crown cheered. That’s not exactly what the media is showing you. Watch it again.

To be truthful, I would have been scared witless like private Bone Spur was, only less inclined to pump my fist like I had scored a touchdown.

Another thing Murdoch doesn’t want you to see is convicted Russian spy and former National Rifle Association lobbyist Maria Butina giving us a defiant fist-pump of her own, since Trump was shot by a Republican dork with a Second Amendment-protected assault rifle she helped Putin put in the imbecil’s hands. Maria must fist-pump with her middle finger extended.

Is there no end to the irony?
