PBS Puts Quotation Marks Around “News”

Our Founding Founders were more afraid of one particular threat to Democracy than all of the others combined: Stupid Americans. Dumb-ass voters scared the Founding Fathers shitless: An uninformed ignoramus armed with an AR-15 and the full conviction of a stupid idea who also has the power to cast a vote frightened the Framers to a man-jack. The unwashed mob of the French Revolution frightened them. They knew that a Caesar or a Trump always gets sucked into the ensuing power vacuum after a revolution …and that scared them too. But how to avoid historical inevitably?

Here’s how they envisioned it:

1) A free and uncensored press is instrumental in keeping the citizenry informed of corruption or danger.
2) An informed, educated public will be better prepared to make decisions.
3) An informed, educated, participatory public can work to form a more perfect union.

Enter mandatory basic, elementary education for all and Public Television: “Problem Solved,” eh?

Not so fast, partner! Evil geniuses like Newt Gingrich and Steve Bannon see PBS as ready-made state television for their puppet president. Other evil geniuses see the obscene dollars waiting to be hijacked by commercial advertising and want a piece of the pie. First, they spend forty years gaming the Board of Directors until they control it under a corrupt President. Since decades of propaganda have coerced the American people into believing their bullshit claims of “left wing bias,” the powers behind the power have threatened to cut off PBS funding. So how does PBS News Hour respond?

Do they report on why America is supporting Russia and the BRICs in the United Nations and on the world stage? Do they report on the ongoing coup sweeping us into authoritarianism? Of course not — that’s why they’ll be privatized by the next really obscene bribe.
