Democracy? Start With a Democratic Party

There is absolutely no democracy in the Democratic Party; rather, a little known twenty-two term — that’s forty-four years in office — professional politician and power broker, Congressman Steny Hoyer (D-MD) from one of the wealthiest constituencies in the United States next to Palm Beach makes the decision as to who the party allows to run for office …and who doesn’t get to run as a Democrat. These are black box decisions made in a metaphorical smoky back room behind closed doors. The Democrat party might as well be a dictatorship for all that — you have no say in the matter. Your only option is to buy a bazillion dollar home in Potomac, MD, or San Francisco, CA, and vote them out of our misery.
Congresswoman and former Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) stayed on as his front-facing mouthpiece while Steny remains in the shadows.

Hoyer bragged on network television that he’s the one that actually decides who gets to run for office as a Democrat, He has done so for decades, but if you are like most Americans, you have probably never even heard of him. What have Steny and Nancy done so far? They made the decision to screw Bernie Sanders in favor of Hillary Clinton, plunging us into four years of Donald Trump, for one thing.

Today, Hoyer and Pelosi are the exclusive shot-callers; they are so powerful that Pelosi left the Speaker of the House gig but stayed on as a Congresswoman for the express purpose of working with Mr. Hoyer, doubling their iron grip on party power. When you watch the party primary, you are looking at their hand-picked candidates and nobody else. Not very democratic, eh?

These two have been doing this for decades now and the effect has been a steep decline in trust. They have given us an ineffectual Executive branch …repeatedly. The choices they have made have always been relatively poor for the nation, but great for rich Hollywood donors. Wonder where Janet Yellin came from? Her qualifications? Hint: She was one of Joe Biden’s top campaign donors. Now she gets to pretend to run our banking system, a system that rivals Malta for sleaziness. Mrs. Yellin seems clueless and unaware.

In our nation’s darkest hour this side of World War Two, Hoyer and Pelosi continue to make the same lame, out-of-touch decisions that have been gradually rotting the core of our democracy for …forty-four years? And yet, they will be the ones who will decide whether we’re saddled with Biden for four more years of mental decline or whether we are plunged back into the Dark Ages. Considering their grip on the party …I’m getting ready for the New Dark Ages: These two are hard at work electing Trump again and don’t even know it.

Enough about them. My point is that there is no Democracy in the Democratic Party; that’s not just a bad joke, it’s a reflection of elite hypocrisy at work.
